If your child is poorly and can’t come to school, please call the office on 01604 491769 and leave a message before 9 am.
To request time off for your child, please complete the Trust Absence Request Form.
This form is linked on all of the school sites.
We follow government guidance on granting absence. The school office can authorise:
- Sickness/illness (may require a doctor’s note for five days or more)
- Emergency and planned medical appointments
- Days for specific religious observance
And in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Principal:
- Family crisis/bereavement
- Other compassionate grounds
In exceptional circumstances, in advance, at the discretion of the Principal:
- Family wedding / civil partnership taking place on a school day (not travel). Note that for an overseas wedding, we may authorise up to 3 days
- Attending an event at the request of a public organisation
- Educational opportunity, sport and performance
- Examinations taken off-site
- Visit to a new school
- Family relocation visit
National guidelines prevent us from authorising:
- Family trips and holidays of any length
- Leaving school early to travel to an event
Note that taking holidays during term time is treated as unauthorised absence and can result in a fine from the Local Authority.
