Curriculum

ART

Our intent: a bespoke and progressive curriculum, that is thoughtfully sequenced to enable all children to build and deepen their knowledge, develop strong skills, and engage in exceptional curriculum experiences.

AMBITION

Our art curriculum is designed to nurture every child’s artistic talents and creative expression through progressive skill-building lessons that explore a variety of media.

Beyond the classroom, we embrace bespoke artistic experiences, such as collaborating with an artist-in-residence, introducing children to the powerful impact of art on individuals and the wider community.

IMPLEMENTATION

Our coverage ensures children build skills across the following areas:

  • Fine Art – Drawing, Composition, Colour & Texture
  • Printing
  • Collage & Textiles
  • 3D
  • Artist Study

To teach art in an engaging and purposeful manner, we focus on developing artistic skills and related knowledge within the context of a wider curriculum topic. Each area has a progressive set of skills and knowledge to ensure that, year-on-year, the children’s learning builds from the previous year.

This progressive skill-based curriculum enables staff to further challenge or support children where necessary, to ensure all children have personal learning journeys to encourage their best and most rewarding artistic outcomes.

IMPACT

Our Art curriculum immerses children in an environment that highlights the importance of the Arts and their positive impact on individuals and the community.

We foster creativity through unique, enriching experiences that go beyond the ordinary, with children’s artistic achievements showcased throughout our vibrant and inspiring learning environment.
